Like almost all other things from the history of the “Wild West,” there is a lot of myth surrounding Holliday.  Legend has it that he was ruthless with both a gun and a knife.  However, there is not a lot of concrete proof that this is true.  In his known gunfights, Holliday was not an accurate shot with his gun.  It has been said by some that he was very fast with the gun, but not precise.  It is safe to assume that Holliday knew how to use these weapons because gamblers in the “Wild West” needed to be skilled at defending themselves.  Holliday may have had increased problems with aim due to his drinking and his tuberculosis.  At the OK Corral he used a shotgun, which requires less aim.  There is even myth surrounding his photographs.  There are many floating around but only a couple that are proven to be “Doc” Holliday.  Wow, the “Wild West” certainly remains wild!
